1995 World Aerobic Championship
1995 marks a turning point in the history of aerobics, due to the entry into the field of the International Gymnastics Federation. The 1995 World Aerobic Championship, held on the 26th of August at the San Diego Concourse Golden Hall, records however the highest number of participants since the first edition. The women's individual is won by Carmen Valderas (Spain), who has already won the Suzuki World Cup and who will win the FIG World Championship later this year. Kenichiro Nomura finally wins the title in the man individual, after being on the podium in the 4 previous years. The Championship is presented simultaneously with the World Fitness IDEA; in tandem, these two world-class events attract the largest international gathering of fitness professionals.
