2000 World Aerobic Championship
The World Championship final is hosted in Disneyland, and the march of the nations takes place throughout the park, alongside the Disney characters parade. A new set of rules makes its debut this year, the “Common Rules”, developed by ANAC and IAF to allow athletes to compete easily on both circuits, with no need to change the competition routines. Competitors are now judged equally for Technical (45%) and Artistic (45%) performance, while the remaining 10% of the score is Difficulty, comprised of the successful completion of up to 10 elements and three sport aerobics compulsories. Roberson Magalhaes (Brazil) returns to competition after a 4-year break, paired with Olga Cardoso, inaugurating a second phase of his career, full of enormous successes, with a silver medal. Ludmila Kovatcheva from Bulgaria wins the woman individual in her first year competing in the Adults category.
